A specialty built around the athlete in flight.
The Flyer Institute was created around a simple observation: in many sports, the airborne phase is decisive—but individualized development of that phase is often fragmented across multiple coaching roles.
Why The Flyer Institute exists
The acrobatic element matters. The routine matters. The team matters. And the individual airborne athlete matters enough to deserve specialized attention.
TFI concentrates on the technical development of the athlete who leaves the board, platform, ice, snow, floor or supporting athletes and must then manage height, trajectory, rotation, twist, body position, timing, orientation and return. That development can begin with the first fundamentals of flying and continue through advanced and elite performance.
That specialty is designed to fit alongside the athlete's existing coaching structure. The goal is not to replace the home coach. It is to add a focused technical perspective where that perspective can be useful—remotely through asynchronous video analysis or in person at TFI's dedicated 3,500 sq. ft. California flyer training facility.
Built from long-term athlete development.
Springboard diving
More than a decade coaching divers, with nearly 30 high-school athletes progressing into collegiate programs.
Flyer development
Approximately a decade of focused work with artistic-swimming flyers, including athletes who progressed to Division I and national-team-level opportunities.
Cross-sport application
The same airborne-performance lens has been applied with athletes in cheer, STUNT, skating, snowboarding, diving and other aerial disciplines.
